I Do all the steps and seem to work fine but my xbox still wont read burnt games. It did once then I did an dashboard update recently like a dummy I guess I need to wait for a newer update?
@SpartanHero93 For the 7 series you really can’t i have a sata cable adapter and it won’t work unless there is an output sata or a usb to adaptor for wait for it 2 bucks on ebay
@maxassasin911 yea you get a sata usb adapter bought it online at the radio shack website it was like $30 and includes all you need except the way to power the drive up, but you got the xbox for that

I was having a “ïntro device I.D. failed” when following another pretty good tutorial posted on youtube, but because of the error I was getting (even with using the VIA PCI card) I decided to try your method carefully and it went flawless.

my disk drive uses a sata connection for my regular computer cd drive could i unplug that and plud the xbox into the computer with it instead of buying a card ?
